Writing a casting call that attracts the right applicants

A precise call brings fewer, better applications. Here is a template that works.

Writing a casting call that attracts the right applicants

The quality of your applicants follows the quality of your brief. Vague calls bring everyone; clear calls bring the right people.

Describe the project in two lines

Say what it is, where it shoots and the rough dates. Talent decides in seconds whether they are available.

Break the call into roles

On Zaqtora each casting call can hold several roles. For every role, add:

  • A name and a one-line description
  • Gender and age range if they matter
  • Any special skills, such as dance or accents

Be honest about logistics

Mention the location, shoot days and whether travel is covered. Surprises later cost you applicants.

Review in the pipeline

Move people through Submitted, Reviewing, Shortlisted and then Hired or Rejected. Each change notifies the applicant, which keeps your inbox quiet. See the help center for a full walkthrough.
